Building a People-First Coalition

Join me for a community conversation about the challenges facing our communities. I’ll discuss the current political realities in Faribault, Rice County, and Congressional District 1. As federal cuts hit housing, food support, and healthcare, working families will be left to fend for themselves.

There are many challenges today and on the horizon. In order to protect our neighbors, our communities, and ourselves, we need to be proactively organized.

What we’re working on: a coalition of neighbors in every Southern Minnesota community that mobilize to meet the needs of the neighbors. What does meeting needs look like? It means advocating for change at every level of government; writing letters and attending meetings of school boards, city councils, county commissioners, and state legislators. It means sharing our ideals and beliefs with our community year-round, so that our neighbors know they are not alone and so that bigots know they are not the majority.

I am focused on building a local coalition to stand up for Faribault and join a growing people-first network across southern Minnesota. No political parties—just neighbors organizing for real change. We need not agree on everything, but we must all agree that complacency is not an option.
